Our Story

Gabby grew up in Jamaica and later in South Florida. Amelia was born and raised in Northern New Mexico. Fate brought us both to Grinnell College, where we met in 2018.

It was clear from the start that there was something special between us. We began dating seriously towards the end of our time at Grinnell. We navigated long-distance for a year after Amelia graduated, and moved to South Florida together after Gabby graduated.

We then moved to Oakland together so Amelia could attend law school at Cal (Go Bears!).

Gabby asked Amelia to marry her on May 3, 2025, during a weekend away in the mountains of northern California. On May 3, 2026, Amelia surprised Gabby by asking her to marry her back at their home in Oakland.
